Description
Confined Spaces are some of the most hazardous places in a workplace. Confined spaces in the workplace pose a significant risk of injury and death. Hazards in confined spaces can result in fire, explosion, unconsciousness, asphyxiation, or drowning. This training program entails approximately 4 hours of theory based learning and 2 hours of practical exercise.
This course is designed to equip entrants, attendants and supervisors with the knowledge and practical skills required to instil confidence through drills using emergency evacuation equipment, monitors, and various types of PPE. The topics to be covered within this program over the six (6) hours of training will include:
- Legislation (Ontario Regulation for confined space 632/05)
- Developing Plans
- Permit required for Confined Space
- General Requirements Hazards of a Confined Space
- Control of Confined Space Hazards
- Respiratory Protection (SCBA)
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Ventilation and Air Monitoring
